Director of Finance
North Battleford is a growing, well-connected city that offers: affordable housing, competitive wages, great leisure activities, historical attractions, vibrant arts and culture and excellent educational and health services. The City is presently seeking a key player to provide financial leadership in this City of approx 14,000 people.
The City’s organizational structure includes this position as of one of the senior department head positions working with and reporting to the City Manager. We are looking for a candidate to lead, manage and administer the financial services as a corporate function. The successful candidate will be dedicated to working with city departments and employees to provide the best financial planning, reporting and advice possible.
The Director of Finance will be responsible for the following key functions: finance and accounting, including preparation of financial statements; current and long term budgeting and financial planning; debt financing; purchasing policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate for this position will possess a certificate in Local Government Administration, post-secondary degree in Commerce, a professional accounting designation and a minimum of five years of progressive municipal accounting, financial analysis and preparation or a combination of experience & qualifications deemed acceptable by the City.
